This Privacy Policy explains how Love Ledger ("Love Ledger",
"the app", "we", "us", or "our") handles your information. Love Ledger is a
personal and shared financial management app for couples and families. By
using Love Ledger, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not
agree, please do not use the app.
The short version
- Guest mode collects nothing. If you use Love Ledger without an account, all your data stays on your device.
- Account mode stores your data securely so you can sync across devices and share with people you choose.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your financial data for advertising.
- You can export or delete your data at any time.
1. Two ways to use Love Ledger
Guest mode (local-only)
- No account is required.
- All your data — expenses, income, wallets, lists, templates, categories — is stored only on your device.
- This data is not transmitted to us or any third party.
- If you uninstall the app or clear its data, this information is permanently lost. Use the export feature to keep a backup.
Account mode (cloud sync & sharing)
- You create an account with an email address and password.
- Your data is stored on our backend so it can sync across devices and be shared with people you invite.
- This mode is required for collaboration, multi-device access, and Pro features.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what the app needs to function. In guest mode we
collect nothing. In account mode we may collect:
Information you provide
- Account information: email address, password (stored hashed), and an optional display name.
- Financial and app content: the transactions, wallets, budgets, lists, list items, categories, tags, and notes you enter.
- Sharing information: the email addresses you use to invite a partner or family member, and the roles you assign.
- Settings: preferences such as selected currency, savings goal, and display name.
Information collected automatically
- Device & push token: if you enable push notifications, we store a device push token to deliver them.
- Purchase information: if you subscribe to Pro, we receive your subscription status. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Basic diagnostic data needed to operate the service reliably.
We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or browsing history.
3. How we use your information
- Provide the core features of the app (tracking, budgeting, lists, wallets).
- Sync your data across your devices.
- Enable sharing and collaboration with people you invite, with the permissions you set.
- Send notifications about activity on lists you share (only if enabled).
- Manage your subscription and enforce free/Pro feature limits.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Diagnose problems and improve the app.
We do not use your financial data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Sharing and disclosure
People you choose
When you invite someone to a list, the data within the scope you grant
(whole list, or only specific sections) becomes visible to them according to
their role (Editor, Viewer, or Commenter). You can revoke access.

Legal reasons
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights,
safety, or property of our users or the public.
Business transfers
If Love Ledger is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets,
your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Data storage and security
- Account-mode data is stored on infrastructure provided by Supabase.
- Access to shared data is enforced at the database level (Row Level Security), not only within the app.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
6. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active.
- If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and app content from active systems within a reasonable period, except where retention is legally required.
- Guest-mode data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app; we never hold a copy.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct,
export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain
processing. The app lets you edit most data directly and export to Excel/CSV.

8. Children's privacy
Love Ledger is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in
your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If
you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International users
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own,
including where our service providers operate. By using the app, you consent
to this transfer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material
changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate,
notify you in the app.
